Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about QRedeem.
What is a QR voucher?
A QR voucher is a digital voucher with its own unique QR code. Instead of printing paper coupons, you create vouchers in QRedeem, share a link or QR code with each customer, and your staff scans the code to redeem it. Each code works exactly once.
How do QR vouchers work for my business?
Four steps: (1) Create a campaign — set your offer, dates and how many vouchers you need. (2) Share — send each customer their voucher link via WhatsApp, email or print the QR. (3) Scan — the customer shows the QR at your store; your staff scans it with any phone camera. (4) Track — see redemptions in real time in Reports.
Do my customers need to install an app?
No. Customers open their voucher link in any browser — no app install, no account, no sign-up. Your staff also needs no special app: any phone camera that can read QR codes works, or they can type the voucher code manually.
What does my staff need to scan vouchers?
Any smartphone with a camera. Open the scanner in your QRedeem campaign, point it at the customer's QR code, and confirm the details before tapping Redeem. For security, redeeming requires your staff verification code, which you set per campaign.
What's the difference between a voucher and a voucher code?
A voucher is what the customer sees and presents (the QR page). The voucher code is the short text code behind it (e.g. P29SU5) that staff can type manually if the camera can't read the QR.
Can a voucher be used twice?
No. The moment a voucher is redeemed it is locked across all devices instantly, so it cannot be scanned or used again — even if the customer screenshots the QR code.
What happens if a customer loses their QR code?
Ask the business that issued it to resend the voucher link. Each voucher link is unique to that customer, so the business can look it up in their campaign and share it again via WhatsApp or email.
Do vouchers expire?
Yes — you set a start and expiry date when you create the campaign (for example a weekend promotion or a month-long offer). Expired vouchers show as expired and cannot be redeemed.
Can I pause a campaign?
Yes. Pausing stops new redemptions immediately; issued vouchers cannot be redeemed while the campaign is paused. Resume anytime — vouchers become redeemable again instantly.
How do I see which vouchers were redeemed?
Open your campaign → Reports. You see every code, its status (active/redeemed), and when it was redeemed. Download everything as CSV for your own records.
Can I use my own branding?
Yes — add your business name, offer description and website link to every voucher. Customers see your branding on the voucher page.
What if a staff member's phone is lost?
Every sign-in is a separate session listed under "Signed-in devices" on your dashboard. Revoke the lost device in one click — it's signed out immediately and your campaigns are safe.
How much does QRedeem cost?
There is a Free plan ($0) for trying things out, plus paid plans (Starter+ and Business) with more campaigns, vouchers and monthly redemptions. See the Pricing page for current limits — every plan includes unlimited staff scanning.
How does the Free plan work?
The Free plan gives you 1 active campaign with up to 50 vouchers and 50 redemptions per month. No credit card required. Upgrade to Starter+ or Business when you need more.
Is there a limit on how many vouchers I can create?
Limits depend on your plan: each plan allows a number of active campaigns, vouchers, and redemptions per month. Your dashboard always shows live usage (e.g. "12 of 50 redemptions this month"), so you never hit a surprise.
What counts as a redemption?
Each time a staff member successfully scans and validates a customer QR voucher, that counts as one redemption. Failed scans (invalid, expired, duplicate) do not count.
What happens when I reach my limit?
Your dashboard tells you exactly what's full. New redemptions pause until the next billing cycle, or upgrade your plan to keep going immediately. Your existing campaigns and data are never touched.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately — your new limits apply right away. If you downgrade, your existing campaigns keep running normally; you just can't create new campaigns or vouchers beyond your new plan's limits. (Self-serve plan switching is coming soon — contact us and we'll change it for you in the meantime.)
What happens to my campaigns if I downgrade?
Nothing stops working. Your existing campaigns keep running and their vouchers stay redeemable. You just can't create new campaigns or vouchers beyond your new plan's limits — upgrade again or pause campaigns to fit whenever you're ready.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees. If you cancel a paid plan, it stays active until the end of the current billing period, then drops to Free — all payments are non-refundable. Your campaign data remains available for export (CSV per campaign) for 30 days after cancellation.
Does QRedeem handle payments or POS integration?
No. QRedeem only handles QR voucher creation, sharing, and redemption tracking. Payment processing, discount deduction, and POS integration are handled by the business independently. We do not process payments or connect to your point-of-sale system.
Is my data private?
Yes. Voucher pages are not indexed by search engines, customer data is only the voucher code itself (no customer accounts needed), and QRedeem never emails your customers.
